Exercises
Possessive Adjectives and Pronouns
We can use possessive adjectives and pronouns to talk about possessions. These are:
| Possessive Adjectives | Possessive Pronouns |
| my | mine |
| your | yours |
| his | his |
| her | hers |
| our | ours |
| their | theirs |
We place the possessive adjective before the noun we are referring to:
Example: That is my car.
We place the possessive pronoun at the end of the sentence:
Example: That car is mine.
The Possessive ‘S
We can use ‘s to express possession:
Example: That is Julia’s car.
We place the possession after the owner with the ‘s in the same position of the possessive adjective:
That is Julia’s car = That is her car.
Alternatively, we can use ‘s with the owner at the end of the sentence in the position of the possessive pronoun:
That car is Julia’s = That car is hers.
